Job Description

The incumbent in this position is responsible for managing all activities related to the drafting, reviewing, updating, developing and administering of all business contracts related to the acquisition of goods, materials and services for the Seminole Tribe of Florida Building and Grounds Department. The incumbent is involved with the full spectrum of contract-related tasks, including, but not limited to ensuring consistency of procurement documents, negotiating and processing contracts and their modifications and assisting with resolution of contract disputes. The individual coordinates and monitors all contracts as they flow between the Building and Grounds, Purchasing, Legal, and Risk Management Departments in order to ensure compliance with all policies and procedures. This role is also responsible for monitoring the performance of contractors in a systematic and proactive manner and reviewing vendor contracts and applications to ensure compliance with STOF standards. Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Business Administration, Finance, Construction Management, Engineering or a related field is required. A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in preparing, negotiating and administering contracts for construction, capital projects, the acquisition of commercial goods, professional services (such as architecture and engineering), and other contractual services is required. Knowledge and experience with contract related forms. An equivalent combination of education and experience in a governmental or similar environment will be considered. Strong knowledge of design and construction contract administration, negotiation, and interpretation; experience in the commercial vertical building market, is highly preferred. Strong financial and business acumen with the knowledge of how to structure and close a business deal is highly desired. Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License is required. Ability to demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to produce professional contract documents Demonstrate proficient computer skills utilizing Microsoft software packages. Must be able to travel to all STOF Reservations and other locations and work a flexible work schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
