Job Description

The incumbent in this position is responsible for the planning, implementation and maintenance of network technology for the Seminole Tribe of Florida. The incumbent plays a critical role in supporting and securing the network infrastructure for a large-scale Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) project led by the Public Works Department. This individual assumes operational accountability for route, switch and voice hardware and software, and is responsible for coordinating the delivery of these network resources to project efforts. The Network Engineer ensures high network availability across the organization while supporting the day-to-day operations of internal business units. While this position works closely with the Public Works IT team on daily operational matters, it ensures governance, security compliance, and standardization across the enterprise network; this position reports to the IT Network & Unified Communications Manager. Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field is required. A minimum of five (5) years of experience working in an enterprise environment with network or voice support responsibilities is required. Prior experience managing and a thorough understanding of wired and wireless technologies. Cisco Certified Network Associate certification is required. Cisco Certified Network Professional certification is preferred. Proficient in configuring and supporting Cisco routing and switching technologies. Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License is required. Demonstrate Excellent English written and oral communication skills. Ability to travel to all STOF Reservations and work a flexible work schedule including night, evenings, weekends and holidays.
