Job Description

The incumbent in this position is responsible for supervising the daily operation and implementation of pool safety procedures within the Seminole Tribe of Florida’s Recreation Program. The individual safeguards patrons visiting the Seminole Tribe of Florida aquatics facilities and ensures enforcement of STOF’s policies and regulations. The Pool Supervisor develops or modifies work plans, methods, and procedures, determines work priorities, and develops work schedules to provide adequate staff coverage. Trains lifeguard personnel in methods and procedures of safety and water rescue; acts as relief for lifeguard personnel. Conducts periodic checks of pool water safety equipment and tests and monitors water for pH, chlorine, and alkalinity levels. The individual responds to emergency situations, recognizing, responding and rescuing distressed swimmers and performing CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and First Aid when appropriate. High School Diploma or equivalent GED is required. Minimum of three (3) years of Lifeguard III experience and previous supervisory experience is required. Current American Red Cross Life Guard Training certification and American Red Cross CPR and First Aid certificates is required. Red Cross EMR certification is required. Incumbent must possess a current pool operator’s certification. May be required by the Department to obtain and maintain related certifications. The incumbent must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License. Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
