Job Description

The incumbent in this position is responsible for overseeing the development and execution of a comprehensive implementation of a facility management and grounds maintenance program for all Seminole Tribe of Florida’s Buildings and Grounds assets. The individual develops and implements a forward-thinking management strategy that enhances efficiency and visibility, ensuring timely, proactive and thorough responses to the needs of the Tribe. This role includes establishing performance standards for all facilities and assets, and leading a complex department consisting of a large staff with diverse skills and specialties. Additionally, the incumbent oversees the administration and implementation of all vendor contracts agreements for building maintenance and repairs. Serving as the primary representative of the Department, the incumbent collaborates cohesively with other Tribal Departments to advance the Department’s mission and uphold the highest degree of professionalism and customer service. Bachelor’s degree in public administration, Business Administration, Planning, Facilities Management, Construction, Engineering or a related field is required. A minimum of eight (8) years of experience in facility management, construction administration, project management, and/or property management, with a minimum of five (5) years in a management capacity is required. An equivalent combination of education, experience and training may be considered. Must have demonstrated experience in the management of building systems and possess knowledge of advanced building engineering principles. Certification as a Facility Manager (CFM), Building Operator (BOC) or Facility Management Professional (FMP) Certification is preferred. Must possess a valid Driver’s License and ability to travel to all the Reservations or offsite locations. Demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages and databases. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays. Serves as a critical employee during hurricanes or other emergencies, requiring presence in the Tribal Emergency Operations Center.
