Job Description

The incumbent in this position is responsible for performing fiscal analysis for a full range of financial related functions pertinent to the Seminole Tribe of Florida’s Housing Department including procurement, accounting, budgeting, and others. The individual is responsible for financial analysis of expense reports; monitoring expenses of grant funded projects, capital projects, and operating budget and review and issue specialized purchase orders. The incumbent leads the development and execution of sustainable sourcing initiatives that reduce cost to the organization. The incumbent examines budget estimates; plans and performs economic and/or financial analysis and analyzes reports for the purpose of maintaining expenditure controls in while coordinating with key department personnel to maximize the use of funding. The individual also serves as the department operational procurement lead person, providing guidance and oversight to the Housing procurement staff on procurement compliance with the Seminole Tribe of Florida’s policies and procedures. The incumbent reviews and may approve all departmental expenditures and may act as an alternate approver for the Director and Assistant Director. An employee in this class exercises considerable initiative with wide latitude for independent judgment and is expected plan, develop and implement procurement procedures and policies. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field is required; Master’s Degree is preferred. A minimum of three (3) years of related experience working as an Accountant, Budget Analyst or senior level Procurement analyst is required. Prior construction buyer/ purchase agent experience is preferred. Knowledge of Government Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) is required. Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License is required. Demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages. Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
