Job Description

Land Use Ordinance No. C-01-92 of the Tribal Council of the Seminole Tribe of Florida establishes the policies, procedures, and regulations for all Land Use activity on lands under the legal control of the Seminole Tribe of Florida. The incumbent in this position serves as Secretary to the Development Review Committee and the Tribal Land Use Commission and is responsible for receiving and reviewing all applications and documents relating to Homesite Leases, leases, assignments or transfers of leases and permits; and monitoring and communicating the status and progress of applications to all interested parties. The incumbent is responsible for the oversight and administration of the entire life cycle related Land Use applications for commercial and residential use from initiation/submission to final approval and recording, including assisting applicants with the completion of their application and submittal; working with other departments and vendors as needed to obtain additional requirements; and overseeing the review process with the Development Review Committee and Land Use Commission, including tracking, record keeping, reporting progress, assisting in the approval process, and final recording with the Bureau of Indian Affairs. The person in this role also amends existing leases, monitors financial obligations, processes rent adjustments and billing, monitors critical dates, conducts research on technical issues, manages and resolves them appropriately and in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with lease terms. Responds directly to tenant’s questions regarding their leases, as well as inquiries about account status including billing. Associate’s degree in Real Estate, Business Administration or related field is required. Bachelor’s degree is preferred. A minimum of one (1) year of experience working as Land Use Coordinator, working for a real estate agency or in a related field is required; or an equivalent combination of education/training and experience will be considered. Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License is required. Demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages. Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
